What We Do
Since 1986, Jonathan Pauls Inc. has strived to produce the finest furniture, casework, & millwork on the market. As a custom manufacturer, our company is capable of producing cabinetry and furniture to exact specifications using any wood species, material, and finish.
Over the years, we have had the opportunity to build lasting relationships with some of the industry’s top interior designers, architects, and contractors. After 35+ years, our focus remains the same, customer service, customer satisfaction, and producing the best quality product possible.
Our History
1986
Over 35 years ago, Jonathan Pauls Fine Woodwork & Design was established in Seattle, WA. Founder Jonathan P. Wellnitz began crafting fine custom furniture in the basement of his home. Within the first year, it became clear the company required additional space.
1987
Outgrowing the Greenlake basement, Jonathan Pauls Fine Woodwork & Design expands into a warehouse facility located on Seattle's waterfront pier, adding additional square footage and machinery.
1992
With a growing customer base and demand for larger projects, the company expands into a new facility in the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle, while also adding its first employee. With a larger production floor, the company begins taking on custom cabinetry projects while holding fine furniture standards.
2000
Jonathan Pauls Inc. (JPI) is formed.
2003
With increased demand for multi-step wood finishes, JPI adds a new spray booth and custom color mixing station for in house color development.
2017
JPI expanded into our neighboring building, more than doubling production square footage.
2019
Priding ourselves on the goal of producing all components in house, JPI adds custom veneering to our list of capabilities.
With the addition of a veneer guillotine, splicer, hot press, and wide belt sander, JPI is fully equipped to handle custom veneering
